Comprehensive administration control panel

b1gMail's administration control panel (ACP) is the virtual control room of your email service. The ACP provides you with many useful tools which makes administration of your project easy and convenient. With countless configuration options you can customize your service and make it unique.

b1gMail ACP

After logging in to the ACP, you get to the Welcome page which shows you a summary of important statistics and information. Here, you can see key data of your service (e.g. user count, count and size of emails and webdisk files etc). The Welcome page also shows optimization hints which are determined from your individual configuration, update notices and more.

Versatile configuration options

With numerous configuration options, you can customize b1gMail according to your requirements.

Besides common preferences you can configure things like the signup process, the email domains you want to provide, the receiving and sending system, anti-spam and anti-virus features, webdisk, SMS features, templates, languages, FAQ entries, user dashboards, the built-in payment interface, display options and the desktop client software.

With b1gMail, you can provide multiple email domains. The ACP allows you to add different domain names, from which your users can chose their favorite domain name while signing up or creating alias addresses. You can add domain names for all users or just for certain user groups or individual users.

Thanks to the countless available parameters you make your b1gMail-based service unique!

User management

User and group management

b1gMail contains convenient features to search, edit, delete and keept track of user accounts. You can list accounts filtered by status or group and search for users using the built-in search feature.

For every user, you can open a details page which shows detailed users information like profile, space usage and important preferences which you can also modify. You can save individual notes for every user, using the action menu you can directly send and email to the user, lock the account or delete it.

User accounts are organized in groups. For every individual group, you can set different permissions. This way, you can offer different benefits to different users. For example, you can configure the user's email and webdisk space limit, availableness of features (autoresponder, email forwarding, mail-to-SMS, mobile access, webdisk sharing, access using POP3/IMAP/SMTP(*), S/MIME, b1gMail toolbox, ...) and limitations (maximum email size, webdisk traffic limit and download speed, maximum email recipient count, maximum send frequency, count of aliases, allowed prefixes for SMS, ...).

(*) Requires b1gMailServer.

Using the newsletter feature, you can quickly and easily send email newsletters to your users.

You can create a recipient list by filtering user accounts by user status, group and country. Newsletters can be sent either directly to the user's b1gMail account or to the user's alternative email address, if specified.

While composing your newsletter, you can chose between text and HTML format. Using the templates feature, you can create and manage newsletter templates to keep a consistent corporate idenitity in your mailings.

Before sending a newsletter, you can see the exact recipient count. Instead of sending the newsletter, you can also export the recipient list as a CSV file in order to use it in external applications.

Activity view

Activity view

When having a large amount of users, it is more and more important to be able to identify accounts which are inactive, make heavy use of system resources or even show abusive behavior. b1gMail's activity view is a useful tool which helps you in this case.

The activity view lists all users along with their used email and webdisk space and traffic and the count of sent and received emails. By clicking on one of these columns, you can sort the user list by this criterion. This way you can find users who, for example, send great amounts of emails or generate unusually high webdisk traffic.

Directly from the activity view, you can edit, view details or lock/delete user accounts.

Optimization and maintenance tools

Many tools and features of the administration control panel assist you in maintaining and optimizing your b1gMail-based email service.

Directly from within the control panel, you can optimize, check and fix MySQL tables.

For maintenance and cleaning up, several features exist, e.g. to find inactive users and either lock or delete them or move them to a different user group. You can clean up the email trash folders of users who match definable criteria (e.g. you can delete emails from trash folders of users who are in a certain user group only if the emails are older than a certain amount of days).

Statistics and logs

b1gMail generates useful statistics and logs to help you to retain control over the activity of your services and occuring events. The logs and stats can be viewed from within the ACP.

The statistics show tabular and visual information about the count of logins and signups and you can view the amount of received and sent emails and SMS itemized by days and months. There are also statistics about the traffic generated by the webdisk.

The "Space usage" view shows the amount of data stored, categorized by data type (e.g. preferences, user profiles, emails, webdisk, organizer) and the average usage per user for the individual types. Here, you can also see the average user space usage categorized by user group.

The log files generated by b1gMail can be viewed using the log browser. Here you can see a list of events like logins, sending and receiving of emails and admin control panel logins and also a list of warning, exceptions and errors which possibly occured. You can sort, filter, search and archive logs.

Update wizard

Important security updates and bugfixes can be installed using the update wizard which is built-in to the control panel.

The update wizard downloads the updates directly from the B1G Software servers and installs them with just a few clicks. Of course, the wizard creates back-up copies of all files which are to be updated.

Plugin management

Plugin management

Plugins, i.e. extensions for b1gMail, can be easily installed and managed from within the b1gMail control panel.

Here, you can see a list of installed plugins and configure, deactivate, pause or uninstall them, if desired. New plugins can be installed with just a few clicks, simply by uploading the plugin package file.

This way, you can install plugins directly without having to leave the control panel or to use an FTP client.

Multi administrator capabilities

You can create multiple administrator accounts. For every individual account, you can specify different permissions.

Using this feature, your b1gMail service can be administrated by multiple individuals. As the service owner, you can decide what other administrators are allowed to do. For example, you can create an administrator account which can only be used to send newsletters or only can change system settings but can not access user account details.

The features of the PremiumAccount plugin can be found on the next page.
